I am tired of my extra fat; can you suggest any fat burner supplements that have no side effects? – Muhammad

I am unabashedly a proponent of healthy diets and lifestyles without using energy burners or thermogenic shots.  So I won’t name a particular brand.  But for clients that insist on such “supplements,” I advise taking only the minimal dosage of a safe product of their choice with the following guidelines:

  • No ephedra/ephedrine, epitonin, ma haung, or Chinese ephedra (banned)
  • No more than 3 of following stimulants combined:  Caffeine, Guarana (up to 100 mg), Kola Nut, Theophylline, Synepherine
  • No more than 3000 mg/3 gms Taurine
  • Directions indicate full daily recommended servings total not more than 20 gm L-Arginine/Arginine alpha-Ketoglutarate or 600 mg Caffeine PER DAY
  • No more than the Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for any vitamin or mineral, as established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences.

  3. I’m sure none of the products sold out there meet any of the guidelines mentioned. That’s how they get you to burn fat: they put your body into overdrive with any of these ingredients.

    Drink green tea all day!

      Thumbs up for green tea and it’s EGCG. Other teas are good as well — natural caffeine sources, as is cocoa. Similar compounds theophylline and theobromine are caffeine relatives and present in these foods too.

  4. Uh, exercise? Aerobic and (functional) strength. Plus a clean and balanced diet (whole vegetables and fruit, lean protein, whole grains, unsaturated fats, water, no soda/refined sugar/fried foods).

    Lipo 6 is an awesome thermo. Nothing beats a good exercise and diet program. A supplement is suppose to aid in fat loss, not do it for you. I use the thermo mainly for the appetite suppression to prevent myself from over doing it on the bad food. Dieting makes you hungry all the time.

      The product you mentioned has a synthetic ingredient. But I agree with everything else :)
