Back to the Gym, the 20 Minute Quick ‘Get Back In to It’ Workout – Phase 1

It’s time for the perfect split of cardio and weight training with your workouts. To get the results you’re looking for, each workout in Phase 5 of this series has you splitting every workout into equal parts of 20 minutes resistance training and 20 minutes cardio.

 

PHASE 5

20 Minutes of Cardio, Plus 20 Minutes of Resistance and Weight Training

40 Minute Workouts, 3-5 Times each Week

 

CARDIO

It’s time to head back to your favorite piece of cardio and fat shedding equipment.

3 Fat Shedding Cardio Machine Programs You Need to Use

You will do 20 minutes of cardio before or after each 20 minute resistance and weight training workout 3-5 times per week.

TOP TIP: Can you push your level up, or do more than 20 minutes? If so, do it! Add 5 more minutes or bump up your level a notch or two. It’s time to really challenge yourself!

 

RESISTANCE and WEIGHT TRAINING

You will alternate between TWO different 20 minute workouts, 3 to 5 times each week, for the next four weeks.

You can choose CABLES, DUMBBELLS, BARBELLS or MACHINES for each exercise/muscle group in the workouts below.

TOP TIP: Try to change your exercise each week. For example, if you use dumbbells for biceps the first week, use cables or a machine the next week.

 

Workout 1
  • Chest exercise – 6 to 10 Reps. – 4 sets. *Rest 60 seconds between each set.
  • Biceps exercise – 6 to 10 Reps. – 4 sets. *Rest 60 seconds between each set.
  • Legs exercise – 6 to 10 Reps. – 4 sets. *Rest 60 seconds between each set.

 

Workout 2
  • Shoulders exercise – 6 to 10 Reps. – 4 sets. *Rest 60 seconds between each set.
  • Triceps exercise – 6 to 10 Reps. – 4 sets. *Rest 60 seconds between each set.
  • Back exercise – 6 to 10 Reps. – 4 sets. *Rest 60 seconds between each set.
