How many cookies can I eat following 30 minutes of cardio and not gain weight? – Holly

question-color-v2

Not knowing anything about you, I can only give you a rough idea…

If all your other food, beverage, exercise, and sleep are consistent so that you are maintaining weight with the half hour of cardio, then the answer is zero. If everything else is stable but you lose a slight bit of weight from the cardio, then 150 calories worth of cookie should replace the calories burned* by that exercise. For comparison, a single 2-inch packaged cookie is typically 50-70 calories, whereas a 4-inch bakery style cookie is about 300-400 calories.

* A 140 pound woman exercising moderately for 30 minutes uses 150-300 calories.
