Corina in the fall_

For many of you, Thanksgiving is a day you over-indulge by feasting on wonderful foods as you sit around with family and friends and watch parades, football games and holiday classics on television.

Though a full-on workout may not be in the cards for you this Thanksgiving, 15 minutes is all you need to feel revitalized and less lethargic. Which means you can enjoy the day that much more.

The workout is simple, and it is even short enough to do during halftime so you don’t have to miss any of the football game.

Run, Jog or Walk for 1 mile – 12 minutes

At a 5 mph pace, which is a pretty easy to moderate jogging pace for most people, you will be done with your 1 mile jog in just 12 minutes.  If you don’t want to run or jog, the most important thing is that you just get out and move around. So, grab the entire family and go for a walk. If you walk at a brisk pace, about 4 mph, you can get the mile done in 15 minutes. Or, just casually stroll along and enjoy the fall scenery.

After your walk, get in a couple of quick exercises.

Push Ups and Crunches – 3 minutes

Push ups and crunches will work your abs, shoulders and triceps. Do as many push ups as you can and then immediately flip over and do as many crunches as you can. Go back and forth for 3 minutes and you will have completed your 15 minute Thanksgiving Day workout.

Feel free to do more, and run a bit further or add some extra exercises. We just wanted to offer a realistic suggestion to keep you moving and feeling great this Thanksgiving.

Happy Turkey Day!
