Is farm raised seafood better than wild seafood? – Carol H.

Ecology aside, I’ll assume you mean “better” for your health. It really depends on the variety of seafood and conditions they are raised in. Some wild fish are richer in omega-3 fatty acids and all are free of antibiotics. Larger wild species such as tuna may contain more mercury than their farmed counterparts, though other wild species (such as salmon) are lower in contaminants. For shellfish, the farmed versions are just as nutritious as the wild and are considered sustainable.
