Experts recommend that the most consistent time to weigh yourself is the first thing in the morning after using the restroom. Weight yourself in your underwear or very light clothes. There is less variation based on previous meals in the mornings from the day before, and there is more consistency when you weigh yourself on the same scale. Daily measurement during a weight change plan may provide routine feedback to stay on track, but it can also be frustrating.

3 Easy Rules to Help You Lose Weight

Focus on the overall trend, not each 24 hour gain or loss. Sodium/fluid shifts and menstrual cycles are sure to throw your numbers off (more so than a bowel movement, or lack thereof). Those who are just monitoring their weight might choose to do so once a week. Keeping track of multiple different measurements such as weight, circumference and body fat percentage can help you more accurately assess your progress.
