You’ll need some protein throughout the day, as your body uses it continuously and doesn’t really store it. That said, just speaking of the 2 hours pre/post your strength training, you will get more benefit from a protein load AFTER your workout when your muscles are more stimulated to take up amino acids which—amino acids the building blocks of protein that your body uses to build and rebuild muscle tissue. – Debbie J., MS, RD
