Are juice diets good for you or do they hurt more than they help? –Samantha B.
They are good for 1-2 days; hurtful for longer periods.
An all juice diet may be effective to kick-start a cleanse, weight loss plan, or fast, but is not suitable long-term. You’d be missing protein and a slew of minerals and fat soluble vitamins. Not a problem for a few days, but over time you’d notice the effects as your health, body and exercise performance decline. The body simply can’t operate properly without all the nutrients it needs to work. One might also want to consider the sugar content of exclusive juice intake, as sugar can trigger fat storage given enough calories.
However, juicing your own produce is great as PART of your overall diet. You can read more in our article: Just Juice It! [CLICK HERE]
