I am female, 5’1″ and 195 lbs. I work full-time and I’m married with an 8-year-old daughter. I’m 48 years old and work out 4 times a week at LA Fitness for one hour each session. I want to lose weight and I have 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. For me it’s easy to gain weight. I’m Mexican-American and I love to eat good food. Any suggestions? -Lourdes
You don’t have to give up comfort foods completely, but you should scale back your portions — especially starches. Have your favorite comfort foods less often to make them more special. Try keeping snacks 150 Calories or less and on your NON-workout days replace dinner with a large vegetable salad topped w/ lean protein. If you get hungry between planned meals or snacks, eat raw vegetables and drink a glass of water. Keep at it busy mom! – Debbie J., MS, RD
