I am a 27-year-old woman who weighs 128 lbs. I would like to reduce my weight further in order to be 120 lbs. I have been working out, going regularly to the gym and also eating healthy meals, but my weight has not dropped below 128 lbs. for the last 8 months. What can I do to lose 8 more pounds? –Krupa
It sounds like you might be at your natural weight set-point. If you are trying to shift beyond that, it will take additional changes beyond your current healthy eating habits and workouts.
Look everywhere for opportunities for more activity and where extra calories might be sneaking into your healthy eating. Beverages often are the culprit. Even occasional treats can keep you from your goals — a single brownie sundae can add 1,000 Calories! Try shaking up your eating routine by having a day with no prepared foods, meat-free, or eat everything with chopsticks to slow down your eating! – Debbie J., MS, RD

Hi, I’m a 27 years old female and I am 128lbs, 5’2. I have mesomorphic frame and do circuit training and/or weightlifting 5 or 6 days per week. I need to loose 18lbs and I also want to stay strong. However, since I’ve started low carb diet I cannot drink enough water during my workout and after I drink 3 cups of water I feel like throwing up and it doesn’t let me drink my protein drinks right after my workout. Also, it got worse after I had a week of very low calorie intake due to a tragic event.
I’d appriciate your opinion on this.
Thanks
How many calories should you be eating per day if you’re aiming to lose two pounds a week? Use the following equation as a guide: Multiply your weight (in pounds) by 12. The resulting number is the calories needed to maintain your weight. To lose 1 pound a week, cut 500 calories a day. To lose 2 pounds a week, cut 1,000 calories a day.Eating lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains (think: oats, barley and quinoa) and beans can help jump-start weight loss. Why? They deliver fiber, which helps you to feel full on fewer calories.
