question-answer-color-v-2 I like to sweeten my tea with rock sugar.  Is rock sugar okay to use or is Stevia a better choice?  -Deborah

question-color-v2

Rock sugar is fine; assuming we’re talking about a small amount—less than a teaspoon—because there’s little nutritional difference between the two.  Rock sugar may enhance a tea’s flavor or provide a unique profile like honey does.  Stevia is naturally derived, mild and saves only 16 calories per teaspoon.  If you’re concerned with the total amount used on a daily or weekly basis, remember a weaker tea brew requires less sweetener. – Debbie J., MS, RD
