I go to the gym every morning at 6:00 a.m. Every morning I make a banana, strawberry, cranberry juice smoothie with a scoop of whey protein and crushed ice. Also, after my work out I have a protein bar that usually has about 20-25 grams of protein. – Gary
I like your approach of having the smoothie BEFORE to help with your energy during your cardio, and a protein bar with a simple carbohydrate will work well after your weight training. Just make sure your bar isn’t a 300 Calorie “meal replacement” with 10 or more grams of fat. - Debbie J., MS, RD
