Joey Klockare lost 69 pounds over the past year, and she would love to lose the last 25 this fall. In the past her weight fluctuated; she would lose weight only to put it back on. Sometimes she gained the weight back and continued to gain even more weight. Like many of you, Joey poured through different workouts and different diets as she searched for the answer that worked for her. She needed to find a path that provided consistency and longevity for her. She did, and it wasn’t a diet, a running program or hard-core weight training that worked for Joey. It was group fitness classes.
“With the group classes, there is a set time,” said Joey. “The days that I have group classes I can’t postpone going to the gym. I have a certain place to be, at a certain time.”
So she is going to group fitness classes twice a week to continue her quest to lose 25 more pounds. She also added the help of personal trainer once a week to give her an extra edge in completing her weight loss goal.
“The classes that I attend regularly are BodyWorks and Bootcamp,” said Joey. “The group classes push you, especially Bootcamp, to get out of your comfort zone and to do training you would never do on your own.”
Joey’s excitement is contagious. Her results thus far give her all the confidence in the world to sustain her progress and reach her goal. It’s not just her weight loss that provides Joey with her motivation; she is also reaching new fitness levels. Joey is accomplishing more than she ever even expected.
“It is fun to see transformation in your body and to feel a transformation in your ability,” said Joey. “It is great to know that I am capable of so much more today than I was six months ago, and that if I continue to work hard that I will be doing more than I am today. That is really fun to think about!”
There are so many of you with similar goals to lose weight, and yet you all are unique and different people. Joey’s story is reminder that there is no one right way for everyone to achieve their health and fitness goals, but there are in fact many paths and one of them is the right path for you.
Enjoy the journey! We can’t wait to see and hear about your accomplishments too. Thank you all for coming to our clubs, and for allowing LA Fitness to share in this amazing part of your life.

Way to go, Joey! I just reached my 100 lbs lost mark. It’ll happen – just keep working it!
I lost 65 lbs in 6 months, in my first 2 months I lost 40 lbs
, in la fitness in norwalk ca
How?? Please tell me the tips!
I do weight training 3 times a week, once with a trainer, once in a group fitness class and once in bootcamp. I run 10 to 15 miles a week and try to do hot yoga at least once a week. I am eat between 1300 to 1500 calories a day and try to steer away from carbs after lunch. I feel like I put so much energy and effort to this, but I know that it was also my fault that I ate my way through 2 pregnancies so I have to do the work now. I have about 20 lbs to go and that is the hardest part of the journey for me, I am starting to feel comfortable and sometimes I let things slide. The diet is hard as well for me I am a foodie, but the pay off is so great! I love the positive feedback that I receive from friends, family, people at the gym who have seen my transformation. I hate to sound vain, but I love feeling hot again!
Joey, there is nothing wrong with loving feeling HOT again!!

WTG! I couldn’t agree more, and you said it perfectly “With the group classes, there is a set time,” said Joey. “The days that I have group classes I can’t postpone going to the gym. I have a certain place to be, at a certain time.”
